Patti Baker is a design talent and project leader.  She is recognized for forging strong client relationships and delivering exceptional award-winning projects. Patti joined Backen & Backen Architects as Director in 2019 to support the firm’s evolution and growth in Southern California while providing a full-time local presence and leadership to our clients, the projects, and the team.  Since joining Backen & Backen, Patti had worked closely with the late Howard Backen and continues to work closely with all the Backen & Backen partners collaborating on significant projects throughout Southern California and beyond.  

With 30 years of experience in architecture, Patti leads significant residential and hospitality projects in Los Angeles and Santa Barbara Counties.  Recent projects include estates in Bel Air, Holmby Hills, Brentwood, and Montecito, a winery and event barn in Santa Barbara County, and a luxury mountain resort.

Prior to joining Backen & Backen, Patti was a Principal with a highly regarded Los Angeles practice, leading high-end residential projects nationally.  Patti holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and is a licensed Architect.

Patti lives with her family in Los Angeles, California.  She has a passion for design, art, and nature.  In her free time, she loves extensive travel and enjoying the outdoors.
